Dr Cormack one of our local doctors came to my clinic in May this year to make a short video, as it is now on YouTube it is easy to show it to you.The video takes the form of an interview between myself and Dr Cormack and there are four parts, this clip is part one and concerns our new X-ray unit. Dr Cormack’s comments are below.

Whenever people living in South Woodham Ferrers are asked what additional medical facilities they want or need, X-ray comes close to the top of the list. It seems a little odd that if your pet needs an X-ray, it can get it on the spot whereas the owner has to travel to, say, Maldon or Broomfield (a long and difficult journey if you are dependent on public transport.)

There are 4 segments to this ‘whistle-stop tour’ of Scott Nimmo’s facility — which (a) gives you an idea of why he is so highly thought of here and (b) will hopefully prompt the medics, in the age of commissioning, to increase the pressure on the NHS to organise a local x-ray facility … and site it in a way which allows ALL the patients in South Woodham Ferrers to have ready access to it.

Apologies for the ‘jerky’ video … for all sorts of reasons this ‘low tech’ approach is the best for this purpose … in that it’s the quickest, cheapest, and most practical.
