How to Keep Your Pet Happy and Safe While Traveling Whether you’re traveling with your dog, cat, turtle, or rabbit, it’s best to be prepared for some challenges, particularly if you’re traveling by plane. Most pets are creatures of habit and don’t like to leave their homes. Dogs are the exception because many of them love to take road trips. But putting a dog on a plane, especially if he has anxiety issues, is a whole different story. So, how do you keep your pet happy while you travel from point A to point B? Here are a couple of suggestions to help you keep your animal companion as happy as you are on your trip: Skip the plane, if you can. If you can drive to wherever you’re going, you should. Flying with your pet is hardly ever an enjoyable experience. It’s enough for your pet to have to leave home. Having to leave home, go into a noisy airport, and then fly on a noisy plane in turbulent conditions is enough to traumatize an animal. If you don’t have the time to drive to wherever you’re going, you may want to consider your private jet charter options.
I recently had a comment from a reader who accused me { and all vets } of neutering and castrating dogs just for financial gain and that they were best just left as God intended. While I did reply in a polite fashion I did not make much headway with this person and for my trouble just received more of the same allegations.

In this exclusive video from moneysupermarket.com, Sheila Stewart from Capricorn Animal Rescue discusses the importance of pet insurance. Covering your pet with insurance could be a matter of life or death. As discussed in a previous article 56 per cent of vets claimed that they had to put down peoples pets as they were unable to afford the veterinary costs.

My cats are indoor cats and I am very fond of both of them, as they are indoors they have a litter tray but I do not love that! Litter boxes by their very nature will smell and are unpleasant but there are things you can do to reduce the smells in your house. Here are some tips to help reduce litter box smells: 1. Cat Litter can only absorb so much urine once the litter is saturated it needs changing and new litter substituted, when this needs doing varies with the type of litter. 2. Scoop out any faeces as soon as possible, this is the most obvious and best approach so that smells do not build up. 3. Seal the scoopings in a plastic bag and dispose of them outside as soon as possible. 4. Clean the box when you change the litter, wash out the box thoroughly as it can retain residual smells 5. Replace the box when necessary, after a time the plastic in your cat’s litter box actually starts to break down. You may see this when the plastic starts to get rough and eroded where the box is frequent in contact with urine.
